The Royal Albert 100 Years range was designed to celebrate the past 100 years of Royal Albert. The patterns are inspired by designs produced over the past ten decades, many of which feature delicate florals, a theme that has become Royal Albert's signature.
The success of Royal Albert dates back to the late 1800's. In 1896 Thomas Clarke Wild, with his father, bought the Albert Works in Longton, Stoke on Trent – a factory given its title to commemorate the birth a year earlier of Prince Albert.
In 1897 Thomas Wild & Co produced a range of commemorative pieces for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, an association with royalty that continues to this day.
The company name Royal Albert Ltd was registered late in 1906.
The past ten decades have seen significant events throughout English and world history, and during that time, Royal Albert has produced a vast array of designs. The Royal Albert design team has selected one from each decade celebrating Royal Albert's rich heritage for the 100 Years range.
