its inherent beauty and unique designs.
Inspired by English country gardens, traditional Royal Albert is
the epitome of the English floral style.
The biggest selling pattern, Old Country Roses,
is as popular today as when it was first designed in 1962.
Other Patterns include Lady Carlyle and Moonlight Rose.
The success of Royal Albert, along with its important royal associations,
dates back to the late 1800's.
In 1896 Thomas Wild took over the Albert Works in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent,
England - a factory given its title a year earlier to commemorate
the birth of Prince Albert (the future King George VI and father
to Queen Elizabeth II).
The following year Thomas Wild & Co. produced a range of commemorative
pieces for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee - an association with
royalty that continues to this day and which led to the name of
'Royal Albert'.
Production of all Royal Albert tableware has now been moved to
Royal Doulton's state-of-the-art factory in Indonesia. Royal Albert
Giftware is sources from Asia.
