Royal Worcester has the proud distinction of holding a Royal Warrant
longer than any other porcelain company - the honour was initially
bestowed in 1788, and has subsequently been granted in every succeeding
reign.
John Raine imports Royal Worcester's Jamie
Oliver porcelain
tableware range. Also available is a selection of fine
bone china tableware patterns.
Based in the town of Worcester, England, the company's first factory
was founded in 1751.
Today Royal Worcester designs a wide range of porcelain and fine
bone china products. What is the difference between the two? Porcelain
is made from 60% china clay, 20% feldspar and 20% quartz, whereas
fine bone china is 50% bone ash - which adds strength, extra whiteness
and translucency - 25% china clay and 25% feldspar.
